Mr. Petit is wanted by the Royal Turks and Caicos Islands Police in connection with a series of Armed Robberies and Firearm Offences committed in Providenciales.

He is considered Armed and Dangerous.

10/31/2011 - Guilty Verdict

On Friday 28th October 2011 in the Supreme Court in Providenciales Randy Harvey was found guilty for the murder of Charity Higgs which occurred on 3rd August 2010 in Middle Caicos.

 

Pursuant to Section 50 of the Criminal Procedure Ordinance the Jury returned a special verdict that states that the accused was guilty of murder but was insane at the time when he committed the act.

 

Harvey will be sentenced on Friday 25th November 2011.

 

Randy Harvey will receive the appropriate medical treatment during his incarceration.

10/26/2011 - Shooting Incident

The Royal Turks & Caicos Islands Police, Criminal Investigation Department, in Providenciales, are investigating a shooting which occurred at approximately 10:00pm on Monday 24th October 2011 at local resort in Providenciales. An employee received a gunshot wound to his left leg and was taken to The Cheshire Hall Medical Centre where he is being treated for his non-life-threatening injury. Two males are in custody and are being questioned by the Police. The investigation is continuing.

10/26/2011 - Charged with Wounding

The Royal Turks & Caicos Islands Police in Grand Turk have charged two males for Fighting in a Public Place. Also, as a result of this incident one of the males has also been charged for wounding. This altercation occurred on Saturday night 22nd October 2011, at the Yellowman Auditorium on the Old Airport Road in Grand Turk. During the fight a male received a number of stab wounds and was treated at The Cockburn Town Medical Centre Grand Turk for non-life threatening injuries.

The two males will appear in The Grand Turk Magistrate’s Court on Wednesday 26th October 2011 to answer to charges.

10/26/2011 - Fatal Road Traffic Accident - Long Bay Road, Providenciales

On Tuesday the 25th of October 2011, the Turks and Caicos Islands recorded its fourth road fatality of the year. This fatality occurred on Long Bay Road Providenciales, when a vehicle left the road struck a cement structure and overturned. The deceased and lone occupant of the vehicle has been identified as a Labian Etienne a 20 year old male. The body was pronounced dead at the scene. Excessive speed is believed to be a contributing factor. An autopsy is to be performed later this week. The Traffic Division of the Royal Turks and Caicos Islands Police is continuing their investigation into this tragic event.

10/25/2011 - Arrest - Murder of Wensley Jospeh in 2009

The recently formed Royal Turks and Caicos Islands Police, Cold Case Unit in Providenciales, has charged a male subject in relation to the murder of Wensley Joseph which occurred on Sunday 12th April 2009.

 

Mr. Wensley Joseph was 16 years of age at the time of his death. He was on his way home from a private function when he and his friends became embroiled in a dispute with other males. This resulted in Wensley Joseph being shot; he later succumbed to those injuries.

 

On Wednesday 19th October 2011 officers from the Cold Case Unit arrested a 26 year old male subject in connection with the murder and on the 20th laid a charge of murder.

 

The male subject is scheduled to appear in the Providenciales Magistrate’s Court # 2 on Wednesday 26th October 2011 to be arraigned.

9/29/2011 - Robbery

Police in Providenciales are actively investigating an armed robbery which occurred at the Market Place off the Leeward Highway. At approximately 8:00 pm on Wednesday night, 28 September 2011, a businessman was approached and in the course of a struggle received a gunshot wound to his left shoulder. The injuries were determined to be non-life threatening. An undisclosed amount of money was taken.

 

olice are asking that individuals and businesses to take necessary precautions to deter incidents of this nature and to immediately report any suspicious activities to the Police.

 

Police are also appealing to the public to come forward with any information they may have in relation to this matter.
